K.K. Rigaku Denki (now Rigaku Corporation (RC)) is established in Yurakucho, Chiyoda City, Tokyo as a manufacturer and vendor of made-in-Japan X-ray equipment.

1952

RC develops a rotating anticathode X-ray generator.

1954

RC develops auto-recording X-ray analyzer.

1957

RC develops auto-recording thermal analyzer.

1960

Haijima Plant (now Tokyo Plant) is established in Matsubaracho, Akishima, Tokyo.

1961

Rigaku Denki Kogyo K.K. (now Rigaku Corporation (Osaka)) is established in Takatsuki, Osaka.

1971

Rigaku USA (now Rigaku Americas Corporation) is established in Massachusetts, United States.

1975

Rigaku Distribution Service Center (now Rigaku Logistics Corporation) is established in Nishitama-gun, Tokyo.

1978

Nippon Instruments Corporation is established in Bunkyo City, Tokyo.
RC develops the RU-1500, a high-power X-ray generator.

1980

Rigaku Mizuho Seisakusho (now RC) is established in Nishitama-gun, Tokyo.

1981 ~ 2000

1983

Rigaku Service Corporation (now RC) is established in Takatsuki, Osaka.

1986

K.K. Rigaku (now RC) is established in Matsubaracho, Akishima, Tokyo.

1989

Rigaku Mechatronics (now RC) is established in Matsubaracho, Akishima, Tokyo.

1990

Sutama Plant (now Yamanashi Plant) is established in Hokuto, Yamanashi Prefecture.

1992

The X-ray Research Center is established in Matsubaracho, Akishima, Tokyo.

1996

RC acquires Molecular Structure Corporation in Texas, United States.

2000

RC acquires Osmic, Inc. (now Rigaku Innovative Technologies).

2001 ~ 2020

2001

Rigaku USA Inc. merges with Molecular Structure Corporation, changing its name to Rigaku/MSC, Inc. (now Rigaku Americas).

2004

K.K. Rigaku Denki merges with K.K. Rigaku, changing its name to Rigaku Corporation (RC).

2008

Rigaku Innovative Technologies Europe s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic.
RC merges with K.K. Rigaku Denki Kogyo.

2009

Rigaku Electronics (Beijing) Corporation is established.
Rigaku Applied Technologies, Inc. (now Applied Rigaku Technologies) is established in Texas, United States.

2010

RC acquires Newton Scientific in the United States.
Rigaku Asia and Pacific, Ltd. (now Rigaku Portable Devices Asia Limited) is established in Hong Kong.
Rigaku Europe SE is established in Berlin.

2011

Rigaku Raman Technologies, Inc. (now Rigaku Analytical Devices) is established in California, United States.

2014

Rigaku Americas Holding Company, Inc. (now Rigaku Americas Holding, Inc.) is established in Texas, United States.

2015

Rigaku Polska Sp. z o.o. is established in Poland.

2016

Rigaku Asia Pacific PTE Ltd. is established in Singapore.

2019

RC acquires XwinSys Technology Development Ltd. (now Rigaku Semiconductor Instruments Ltd) in Israel.

2021 ~

2021

RC becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Rigaku Holdings.
RC acquires MILabs B.V. in the Netherlands.

2022

RC merges with Rigaku Mechatronics and Rigaku Service.
RC merges with RC Yamanashi.

2023

Rigaku Shanghai Corporation is established.

2024

Rigaku Corporation Taiwan Branch is established.
Rigaku Holdings Corporation has completed its listing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market.

2025

Completion of the largest-ever manufacturing building at Rigaku’s primary facility in Yamanashi, doubling production capacity.

Opening of Technology Center at the Taiwan subsidiary, incorporated locally in 2025

Celebration of Rigaku’s 75th anniversary.
