Rigaku extends its heartfelt congratulations to Professor Kenso Soai, Professor Emeritus at Tokyo University of Science, on receiving the 2026 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
Professor Soai has made groundbreaking contributions to asymmetric chemistry through his discoveries of nonlinear effects and autocatalysis in asymmetric organic synthesis.

Rigaku’s Longstanding Relationship with the Soai Laboratory
For many years, the Soai Laboratory has used Rigaku’s single-crystal X-ray diffractometers in its research, with additional support from Rigaku’s Application Laboratory in crystal structure analysis.
This longstanding relationship continues today through our work with the laboratory of Professor Tsuneomi Kawasaki at Tokyo University of Science, who carries forward Professor Soai’s research.
We are deeply honored to have had the opportunity to support Professor Soai and his colleagues in their research over the years.
Once again, we extend our warmest congratulations to Professor Soai on this remarkable achievement and wish him continued success and further advances in the field of asymmetric chemistry.
