On July 22, 2026, the “JAIMA Summer Science School” took place at The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan). This annual event aims to help middle and high school students better understand and raise their interest in science and technology through hands-on experiences with actual analytical instruments.
Rigaku participated as a supporting company, providing an experiential learning session on crystal structure analysis using the single-crystal X-ray diffractometer XtaLAB miniⅡ. Participants analyzed familiar substances such as sugar and salt as sample materials.
Following the hands-on session, an “Interactive Time” was held, in which participants were free to visit the booths hosted by the companies of interest. At the Rigaku booth, in addition to the XtaLAB miniⅡ, we showcased the XtaLAB Synergy-ED integrated electron diffractometer. We remotely demonstrated the device from our headquarters.
